Thou, whom I am, take me up in thy glory.
Break the spell of humanity in my chest.
Free me from the lifelong shackle
And quench with streams of joy my boundless thirst.
Thou, whom I am, infuse me with thy breath
And let me be one with thee, Holy Spirit.
In thee shall I be at home again with mine,
As thou healest my dark human dream.
Descend into me and let me share
In love, joy, life-force,
That belongs to me through all eternity.
The Task, which I accepted, has been accomplished.
Then let the light, which I have struggled to regain
After groundless fear and pain.
As the divine fire of joy and love
Be salvation for mankind.
Thou, whom I am, descend in me,
Thou, Joyful Life, Holy Spirit,
So that mankind, whom I love so much,
To the salvation flowing out of me heals.
